Italian Ice

We are proud to offer our Gluten-free and Dairy-free Italian Ice from The Lemon Ice King of Corona, NY.  Originally started by an Italian immigrant, they have been serving authentic Italian Ice for over 75 years.

The now-recognized "Lemon Ice King", Nicola Benfaremo began making his ice in 1944, made the traditional way using natural ingredients and actual pieces of fruit. This was similar to Sicilian granita, a semi-frozen dessert with a sugar and water base. But what made the Benfaremo ice stand out was its creamy texture, which was unlike the coarse and crystalline versions of early Italian ice and which they achieved without using any dairy.
